7th Of June 2013

This week i completed all necesary work for my promotion module. Once my album artwork was completed i printed off my business cards and posters. I also began to create a blog that could be linked with my youtube account and also my reverberation account. The skills i had adhered through this module gave me a better understating of how to attract new fans and other artists. My artwork was also based on how i might be drawn to a certain cd, or website. I believe that the theme surrounding my web spaces inter-grate the feel of the genre i choose to compose in, this may also give an indication to any other albums i create in the future. 

30th of May 2013

This week i completed my back casing of my compilation CD. The placement of the text on the spine was not fitting into the template i was given, therefore i moved the text on Photoshop to fit. I also attached a copyright symbol for safety and professionalism. Before the copyright symbol i wrote "Roofless Copyright 2013. once this was complete i cut the images with a guillotine i used a ruler in order to get a good clean fold.

23rd of May 2013

Today i was introduced to reverbnation along with other similar forms of software that can be used in order to promote my music over the internet. We discussed Twitter, Facebook, Bandcamp, Soundcloud and Reverbnation. I was given the task of choosing one of these forms of promotion to use to promote my own music. I decided to use Reverbnation as i know many people who claim this is a successful way of having your music heard, and also the opportunity of people purchasing my material.

Today i also Finished my CD album cover by making my poster fit into the page layout of a CD, without stretching the image. To do this i copied my jpeg from the poster and created a new page, from here i pasted  the image and made the size of the image more compressed and added black around the image.

May the 16th

This week i carried on with designing the artwork for my compilation CD. I used Photoshop and some images from the internet in order to create my back cover consisting of the track listing and the apocalypse theme of the album. I inverted the background and placed a few other manipulated images onto the background. Here is the outcome ;

I also returned to make my earlier poster into more of an advertising poster through adding text to tell when the album will be available. I have also done this as the original idea will be used as my CD front cover, this is how the poster now looks;

May The 9th 2013

This week I was shown how to create a business card, I used the website vista print in order to help design the layout and text fonts required in making an attractive business card. From here I was able to copy and paste my design for later use in Microsoft publisher. There was a template inside publisher that gave the guidance of size for 10 business printed on an a4 sized sheet. I was also taught about the importance of promotion through creating a calendar; this can be useful as many people might hang a calendar on their wall and see my contact details throughout the year.

I believe the design of this card compliments the types of music that I create, and will hopefully attract the right kind of audience for my productions.

May 2nd 2013

This week I was introduced into creating water droplets using different techniques in Photoshop. First of all I saved an image of a leaf from the internet and opened the image in Photoshop, from here I used various tools to create the image of a water droplet.

 In the second hand of this week we looked at different things that could be accomplished with text and layering images over other images. I was given the task to create a flame effect on set text in Photoshop. I completed the task but was not as happy with the result as I thought I would be. Either way I was happy to learn other techniques that I could adhere to later tasks.

Reflective Journal 25th of April 2013

In the first week we were shown the basics of Adobe Photoshop CS4. After being shown how to create a poster on photoshop we were set the task of creating our own. I completed my poster using the workings of photoshop and some imported images from the internet. We were also shown how to create a blogging site, which we would use to blog our reflective journal over the coming weeks.
